Why is it that Moles just Love Your Lawn? Does It seem that this year, you have been chosen as the Six Flags Amusement Park for all of the Moles in the area? Have you finally reached you “Level of Pissativity?”, and said that enough is enough? Are you almost ready to use dynamite as a means of getting rid of moles on your lawn? Well, Grass Hopper, are you now ready to clear The Problem?.. The problem being (Getting rid of Moles!) Let me see if I can Help!
Mole Extermination is the name of the game. If you are reading this article it is because you have had major problems with Moles. You have possible asked yourself just how did they select my lawn and why? After all this time that you have taken to keep your Lawn and Landscape looking good. This is not to mention the amount of money you possibility spent at Lowe’s and Home Depot for all of the products to keep the lawn looking like a small piece of Shangri La.
Just how do you know that you have Moles in your yard?. It is possible that you see their handy work, that look like raised ground or a Dirt Mounds which will indicate a tunnel system. This may not be breaking news to you but, for those who do not know moles are prolific tunnelers; they tunnel 24/7, taking brief respites every couple of hours. Moles can dig surface tunnels at approximately 15 to 18 feet an hour an as much as 150-200 feet a day. Moles travel through existing tunnels at about 80 feet per minute. The mounds will also appear in mid to late summer during dry periods as their food source is much deeper in the ground. This forces the moles to excavate deeper tunnels for which often leads to lawns covered with mounds of dirt, the classic mole hill. The reason that I mention this is that if you have this condition, (Getting rid of ground moles)..you are well beyond a small Weekend Project.
There are at let four things that you can do to help yourself . And it is about time you get serious about the problem.
1. Make a plan for the Mole Extermination. Moles can enter your property throughout the year, even after the property seems to have been Mole free for sometime. You possibility know that the most active months of the year are April, May and June.
2. Mole Control is your goal. Using Mole Castor Oil and Mole Chewing Gum are only passive methods of getting rid of moles in you yard. The goal is to minimize the damage, while preventing moles from becoming well established on your lawn. Moles can stay on a property anywhere from 3 months to 2 years.
3. Determine how many moles you possible have. How well you keep your lawn, the size of your lawn and the amount of earthworms, night crawlers, grubs and other insects are factors in determining mole population densities. One way to determine the amount of food is to watch your bird population and how they feed for the worms.
4. Learn how to attract and bait the holes to a location of your choosing. So that you exterminate the greatest numbers of moles on your property. You do know that female produces 2-6 young per litter in the spring, but the young are “on their own” in about 5 weeks as they are driven off to find their own territories. Many times these are on the same property. Yours..
These are the months when you really want to use your lawn and be out-of -doors. Using your yard for Barbecue’s, Pool Parties, Garden parties, Tent Sleep overs… you name it, the sky is the limit. Little do you know that I have written a book about the problem with Moles but I have never come up with a better way to eliminate them before now.
You can find out more about how to eliminate your headache, that being getting rid of your mole problem. The method I suggest will not cost you an arm and a leg, I fact you will learn so much that you will be able to teach your neighbor to clear his property. You will discover one technique that will help you with your Mole Extermination. There are commercial programs that can cost you any where from $125.00 to $325.00 to do the same thing you can do for a fraction of the cost…
Thank you for your time Paul!
